On the morning of 30 December 2020, a Cold Full Moon and the last full moon of the year and of the decade travels over the Small Isles of Eigg and Rum, out beyond the entrance of Kentra Bay, about an hour or so before it would set in the north-west.
At the end of the first week of astronomical winter, the cold weather begins and this and many of the other pools that are scattered around the salt marsh on the edge of Kentra Bay find themselves covered with the first ice of the season.
